Nosey Much? Me to.
Its me, hi, Jessica, owner of Pitties and Pieces Photography. Thanks for wanting to know more about me, I’m pretty cool. I like to think I’m funny, and enjoy making people feel comfortable in what sometimes can be an awkward posing situation. If you know, you know. If you don’t know, you will know. I always say, “If it feels awkward, you’re posing the right way.” I like to pose you perfectly for newborn and maternity sessions. For family lifestyle outdoor stuff, I’ll ‘pose’ you to start, and then we go from there. Un-posed but posed? Sure. Sounds smart.
I was born and raised in East Texas, and after high school, I moved around the country a few times on different adventures, and ended up back in the midwest, (boo i know) and met my husband on a whim. We’ve been married for 10 years and have 4 wonderful children! Yes, you sometimes might hear them running, screaming etc during a studio session, because my studio is in my basement, and I love it! Im always adding stuff to the client portions of my business. Backdrops, dresses, clothes, wraps and bonnets and headbands oh my!
The ‘Pitties’ in the Pieces is because of our 2 wonderful dogs, Max(RIP) and Daisy, who are pitbulls (if you didn’t catch that right away. They were my babies, before my real babies were born. Our life really is a ton of little pieces put together to make one big life. Our newest puppy (altho he’s already over 50lbs, is GusGus!
I consider myself chatty, outgoing, and am definitely the person who talks to people in shopping lines, and offers help whenever I can, even with a baby strapped to my back. I like to cosplay and dress up, so if you see me dressed as Wonder Woman, that’s just my other alter ego. I do say curse words, so sorry if they slip, its literally half of my personality.
I feel like every client becomes a part of the Pitties and Pieces family. Anytime someone wants a maternity shoot, an engagement, or even a pregnancy announcement, my emotions are all in for them. I know exactly how exciting those times are in each others lives. The emotions of getting engaged, married, a new baby; It always takes me back to my own emotions that I felt when those things happened in my life. For me, it’s a special feeling knowing you all will feel those feelings when you look back at those photos. It’s more then just a picture, its a memory.
